the weatherman lied

Shirt: American Eagle, Dress: Talula *from Aritzia*, Shoes: Michael Kors, Purse: Coach

Last Wednesday was very boring,
it was a very boring day,
there was nothing much to look at,
there was nothing much to say...

This post is actually about a week late {because everyone knows punctuality is the thief of time}.

Last Wednesday was one of those days, where I bored even myself. It was dreary, rainy and plain yukky outside.

The weatherman had lied to me!

Every morning I turn on Breakfast Television and like a little kid, wait for my favorite weatherman to help me pick out my outfit. He has always been there for me, we're buddies him and I, so naturally I believe every word he says.  However, I am no longer faithful to you mister weatherman. You are a big fat liar. I wore a dress! You said sunshine, light winds - it was cloudy and so windy that when I walked I looked like a dog with it's tail between it's legs.

Summer Essentials

{1} Falling in Love Fragrance :: Described as "A lush combination sure to send any heart a flutter, this blend of vanilla, soft florals, and ripe berries goes on sweet and dries down sexy."  The perfect summer fragrance! Every time I wear this, someone always sniffs me (no, I mean actually wrinkles their nose and sniffs around) asking what it is!

{2} Revlon ColorStay Foundation :: Hands down the best foundation I’ve tried. Dries quickly, lasts all day, I can’t say enough good things about it. The best part? It’s one of the cheaper foundations out there, and can be found at your local drugstore or even Wal-Mart.

{3} Say Yes to Cucumbers Facial Towelettes :: One word - AMAZING

<3 They are both oil and alcohol free
<3 They are pre-soaked in cucumber, green tea, Dead Sea minerals and aloe vera! Yum
<3 Bargain price. Less then $10 for 30 wipes.
<3 They are super sensitive and gentle and suitable for all skin types

{4} MAC Sheertone Shimmer Blush in Springheen :: It’s a peachy -pink apricoty blush with very high gold sheen. The most stunning thing about this blush is that the gold particles are neither shimmery nor sparkly. They just give a hint of glow to your cheeks and blend beautifully with your skin tone.

{5} Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Dark-Circle Eye Roller :: one - eye care with caffeine to hydrate and refresh; two- tinted mineral pigments to instantly cover dark circles. This stuff is awesome as an under eye concealer. I swear by this stuff, especially in the summer, since it’s so light and doesn’t settle into the fine lines.

{6} Urban Decay Liquid Liner :: This stuff lasts forever! Sometimes, even make-up remover has a hard time getting this bugger off. Now that’s an eye liner to use in the summer time.

{7} Coppertone Continuous Spray SPF 10 Sunscreen :: This stuff works wonders. It protects your skin, yet at the end of a long day at the beach you have a healthy, bronzy glow!

<3 Sandproof
<3 Goes on clear - no rub, no mess
<3 Non-greasy, won't clog pores
<3 UVA/UVB protection
<3 Waterproof

What are some of your summer essentials?

sax for lovers

Gorgeous church!

"Summer - - When the waves kiss your feet, the sand is your seat & and your friends out number the stars"

Lessons from the weekend::

{i} When BBQ'ing in the backyard - DO not leave the hot dog buns on the chair. Turns out if you leave the actual hot dogs, raccoons won't steal em', but they are connoisseurs of buns. Who knew...

{ii} When bringing jello to the beach, make sure you bring a cooler and perhaps some kind of contraption to keep away the seagulls. They peck through cling wrap - darn rats with wings...

{iii} When changing the CD in the stereo that belongs to your parents - DO NOT (and I repeat do not) check what they've been listening to. On the other hand, "Sax for Lovers" had some pretty good tunes...

{iv} Before you drive away and lock up the cottage for the week, make sure the stove is off. Driving 30 min back to check (only to find out it was off) is bad OCD and should be avoided.

You live and you learn. Hope ya'll had a fantastic weekend =)

don’t show-cha your chocha

{many thanks to thelifeacademic for finding this!}

Are You Wearing Pants?

This Chart Will Help You Answer That Question --> Am I wearing pants?

Ladies I present to you – the Shakuhachi Fringe Dress.
I don’t know bout you, but personally, I love to frolic through the field, introducing everyone to my chocha
(or in this case – is shakuhachi the key word?)

This one is brought to us by the sneaky bastards at American Apparel.
I guess their vision for this – thing – was that it must be worn without pants.
The model wasn’t having any of it.
Let’s all focus our attention to the deer in headlights look on her face.
Surprise Chocha!

This dress is actually called “Makes me Wonder”.
It makes me wonder…aren’t curtains supposed to conceal the main attraction?
This can’t be said for this poor model, her chocha is on display for everyone to see.

Shirt: Forever 21, Leggings: Style Exchange, Shoes: Nine West, Blazer: American Eagle, Belt: Winners, Necklace: Betsey Johnson, Purse: Steve Madden

If you ever see me on the subway, during my {1} hour commute to work, I will be
glued to my iPhone. While others are catching up on the news, reading some gossip or
watching sports highlights, I’m on a journey to tasty destruction.

With one swipe, I slice and splatter fruit – like a true ninja warrior.
Productivity 0 – Fruit Ninja 1

…I used to read

Fruit Ninja for iPhone/iPod Touch

Speaking of delicious sliced fruit...

Boyfriend and I ate dinner out on the patio. I got to show off my ninja skills.

monday blues

Shirt: Forever 21, Skirt: FCUK, Belt: Forever 21, Necklace: Forever 21, Shoes: Browns
< I heart my boyfriend 3

{1} while I sat on my bum and edited photos, he made supper.
A tasty one at that.
{2} even though according to him I am “persistently stubborn” which I won’t rebuff, he
still took me bike shopping.

I must confess. If truth be told, I am a very lazy person. To the point where when I
make pancakes I wonder – if I put popcorn kernels under the pancakes, will they flip

Still, even innovative & lazy people need exercise, and at the expense of sounding like a
5 year old….

I love my new blue bike!

So much so, that at 11pm, when we finally brought the darn thing home and figured out
how to put the wheel back in place, I rode around the courtyard of the condo in circles as
fellow inhabitants watched me from their balconies thinking “what a delightful child!”

Certainly gave a whole new meaning to Monday Blues.

don’t show-cha your chocha

Credit where it's due: http://daddylikey.blogspot.com

I find pictures of hemlines that are too short.
Then I make a funny.

No one uses their goth grandma’s curtain and wears it as a cape for minimal chocha coverage?
Why didn’t you tell me?!"

Keep looking. You won’t find pants.
Just a smorking chocha.

The poor models thighs are so slim.
She can’t even properly clench for full chocha coverage.

I would be angry too if I was forced to wear something so short.
She was expecting pants, socks don’t count.

That handbag might come in handy when she decides to walk.
You know to prevent a chocha-rific moment.

bananas and mosquito bites?

Shirt: Aritzia, Shorts: Forever 21, Scarf: Forever 21, Shoes: Michael Kors, Sunglasses: Ray-Bans
Steps for stopping the itching

1. Peel Banana
2. Rub inside of banana on bite
3. Eat banana while you wait

Boyfriend & I headed up to the cottage this weekend to celebrate Fathers Day with my
silly dad. The two hour drive was enough time for me to hunt through all of boyfriends
old CD’s and boy did I come across a treasure. You guys ready? A burned copy of Justin
Timberlake's Justified! If that wasn’t success, I don’t what is. Being the sneaky one I am,
I quickly popped the CD in.

Please wait

So I waited. It wouldn’t play. I was going to admit defeat until I realized that maybe if I
take it out and wipe it, miracles would happen! (It was very scratched, which shows just
how much use this CD got in it’s past life hehe)

Cry me a riiiiiiiver, OH

We listened to it for the rest of the ride, and boyfriend would turn it down whenever we
passed a town, or people, hiding his head in shame.

His excuse? It’s his roommate’s. Boyfriend, technically, I’m your “roommate”. Think of
a better excuse =)

PS. A picture of me (age = 8) and my dad!

& one of my adorable pup squinting in the sun.

'cause today I swear I'm not doing anything

Top: Forever 21, Skirt: Forever 21, Shoes: Browns, Necklace/Bracelets: H&M
Days when you can go to work, knowing that no actual work is going to be done are
absolutely SUPER! (Side note: SUPER is actually an accepted word for describing
something amazing in Russian. No lie!)

So it follows that employee appreciation BBQ’s are SUPER =)

Who doesn’t love free burgers, some oily pasta salad, ice cream and popcorn? Not to
mention really cheesy airbrush tattoos. I got a butterfly, be jealous.

At last years BBQ a co-worker got “Wu-Tang” in huge letters down her forearm. Clever
and really funny, especially when she found out that the darn thing lasts a week. It was all
hard scrubbing from there.

PS. For pictures of the tattoo, and some awesome photography check out Danielle's blog. She's kind of the best!

if you want breakfast in bed, sleep in the kitchen

Top: Gap, Jacket: Style Exchange, Pants: Banana Republic, Shoes: Michael Kors, Necklace: Forever 21

Dress: Winners, Belt: Forever 21, Shoes: Browns, Earrings: Aldo, Watch: Michael Kors
Dress: Winners, Shoes: Browns, Necklace: Forever 21, Bracelet: Forever 21
Even if I wanted breakfast in bed, it would have to be a pop-tart or perhaps dry cereal because I wouldn't have time to bother with the milk.
Most of my mornings begin with "What day is it?!" As I panic and rush to take a shower, because we all know that taking a shower at night is only for prepared people. People who plan their next morning. Not me :)

The entire week I kept having to remind myself that come Friday I will be able to finally post.

*Deep Breath*

I kept thinking (and re-thinking) the topics I wanted to write about.

The funny jokes I wanted to share.

Then I realized there was no way I could fit a whole week worth of silly stuff into one blog post.
So instead, I decided to combine my outfits for the 30-for-30 challenge that I took on (Don't know what that is? Click Me!

SO boring. But now that the hectic-ness has finally calmed down I'll be back with awesomeness. (Did I just add ness to two words in one sentence? Lack of sleep does that...I go now)
