guilty pleasures

Dress/Shoes/Belt from H&M (my name is Katya and I am obsessed with H&M) Bracelet from F21

Short is the joy that guilty pleasure brings.

I spend hours upon hours on YouTube when I need to unwind. It's sick really.
I watch random things like how to hang a painting, or Charlie the Unicorn
(seriously look that one up - it's pee in your pants funny)
I even watch small-town talent shows. I've probably seen your kids dance recital.

Why hasn't anyone invented a random YouTube video generator yet?

Also on my list of guilty pleasures this week...
Borrowing boyfriends socks
a little tip?
When your boots are a little too big's nothing that a large pair of boyfriend's socks can't fix!

OH. OH. And Vampire Diaries.
So much so that I have dreams that I'm a Vampire.
(A significant step up from when I used to dream that I was Sabrina the Teenage Witch
&& if I haven't scared you off yet, I should probably stop right there...)

the way to your lady's heart

If your lady is a chimp,
the way to her heart is through her stomach
(But you have to be patient and feed her lots of meat over a long period of time)

If your lady is a technology loving fashion blogger,
the way to her heart is through her iPhone...

food for thought

Shirt: Joe Fresh, Jeans: F21, Shoes: Winners, Necklace: F21, Sunglasses: Ray Ban

There is something that's been on my mind this week, and I was debating whether I wanted to blog about it or not. As I finally found a free minute to sit down and post, writers block kicked my but and it's like my brain was subconsciously whispering to me..
"do it, do it"

To avoid all the fluffy stuff
(and cheesy jokes this time, they will return I promise)
I wanted to be serious with you galls
Just this once

I haven't been blogging for long, I'm a bit of a baby in this world.
However, reading blogs - well that I've been doing for as long as I can remember.

Last night, before heading to boyfriends parents house for dinner, we stopped by the lake to take photos. Before I began blogging, we would have never taken time out of our busy schedule to go and do something as trivial as take a walk by the lake.

This made me wonder...
Are we blogging about our real life or are we planning our life around our blogs?

At first, it was a shock. Yes, we did take a detour JUST to take outfit photos.
But the longer I thought about it the more I realized that planning around blogging, gave rise to a new tradition && a much needed break.

What do you guys think?
Has blogging changed your daily routine to something that you would have never thought about twice before?
& Has it been a positive change?

neck pet

Shirt: Cynthia Rowley, Jeans: Hollister, Jacket: F21, Fur Thing: H&M, Camera Bag: Theit, Shoes: H&M, Belt: H&M
Sometime last week I was at my local pharmacy picking up some face wash.
I was wearing my snaziest outfit...
&& a ginormous chunk of my time was spent applying red lipstick before hand.

As I go to the cashier to pay, the very sweet lady at the counter smiles at me and asks..

"OH red lips - is that what you teenagers are wearing now a days?"

I wouldn't know sweet lady, I'm not a teenager. I'm in my 20's!

That's when it really hit me. I'm not a teenager anymore.
I'm the type of person who goes to buy back up face wash before date night.
If I was a teenager I'd be quietly sneaking into my moms room and stealing hers.
Then maybe getting yelled at for it.

So galls, yesterday I tried to muster up my most grown up -
"I'm not a teenager anymore" look
The fur thing
(not sure what else to call my pretty neck pet
was my attempt at looking more my age.

Did it work?

Shirt: H&M, Skirt: Winners, Shoes: Nine West, Tights: HUE, Ring: Forever 21
If there is one thing I've learned how to do, and do well, it's survive the school year.

A mix of university courses, a part time job, a house to take care of, friends to see, family to visit, & stores to shop at - can be super overwhelming.

But hey, we galls are tough cookies right?

It's no wonder that we can multitask so well.
What man can write an essay, watch Vampire Diaries, blog & talk on the phone at (almost) the same time.
Boys, you've got a LOT to learn.
Try to keep up why don't cha ;)

So here are a few of my secret weapons.

Bright Nail Polish - I've been wearing the vibrant blue ALL week. It really works I promise. Next time you're taking notes in class and feel super down - look down at your freshly manicured nails and you'll be smiling in NO time at all.
(Pssst.. It's Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Pacific Blue)

Chocolate Almonds - A little chocolate boost for your noggin & some good fats that together make the perfect snack for when you're stressing out. I put a hand full into a zip-lock and tote them around in my purse. Careful though, the buggers like to melt.

Mini Breaks - A walk at lunch, half an hour of checking out my fav blogs, coffee, read a magazine...anything that takes me away from whatever it is I'm doing. Superwoman took breaks from superhero'ing - known fact.

What are some of your hidden survival secrets? Sharing is caring after all :)

pretend play

{entire outfit from H&M - Candy store for galls}
My Friday night started out something like this..
(edit.. This week is the Toronto International Film Festival)

Friend: Do you guys wanna go downtown and look for celebs?
Me: I didn't know what you meant at first, I thought you were going crazy. Anywhere in mind?

Cut to.. (my best movie business lingo)

We dragged the boyfriends to town, obviously not looking for celebrities. We had delicious desert and just casually strolled by the exit to that nights premier.

No biggie you know, just a little Ryan Gosling
my heart went pitter patter...
and scenes of from the notebook all of a sudden started playing in my head

Some Freida Pinto, Dev Patel & Marisa Tomei
(Who we confused for Eva Mendes...honest mistake)
All of whom I swear are taller on TV.

Not to be throwing names around, but Mr. Clooney made an appearance too. We just didn't see him.

But that's okay, because we made best friends with them after and had a jolly old time hanging out in our pajamas, telling scary stories and ordering room service.

 Boyfriends were not amused.

Friend & I however learned the importance of pretend play :)

4th sense

Bath & Body Works

"Patience is virtue"

There are two reasons I've learned that lesson.

One - Because I'm trying to be good, and not scratch at my eye while it heals
...I wait patiently until I can leave the house
(put on something other then my current uniform of leggings and over sized tee-shirts)
&& show you guys all the fall outfits I've put together.

They are hanging in my closet...
and every day this week I open the door and calm them down
"Don't worry you guys, I promise, soon!"

Two - Because I have been a good girl, waiting patiently for the fall collection at Bath & Body Works.

I did leave the house for a little (little rebel that I am) to go pick up some candles.

1. Leaves
an all time favorite! the epitome of fall..
if you haven't had a chance to check this one out,

2. Caramel Apple
a perfect transition from summer to fall

3. S'mores
because I'm still holding on to the little bit of summer left

4. Pumpkin Patch
would have never thought I'd like this one, but it is probably second to leaves..
even better? together they are a match made in heaven

So while I can't see properly out of my eye, at least not all my senses are lost.
Thank you 4th sense for letting me enjoy my new candles this week.

adios summer

Jeans: American Eagle, Tee: American Eagle, Shoes: Winners, Cardi: Winners (8$!), Bag: Theit, Necklace: F21

Hey Summer - Yes I'm talking to you.
Where did you go? You were just here yesterday..Why didn't you say goodbye?

When I was little I used to watch a show called Arthur
(show of hands, best show ever or what?)

Arthur and his bunny friend Baxter made a list of things to do during their summer.
Things like build a rocket and go to the moon.
Looking at their list, my summer doesn't compare!

But looking back on my blog posts from the summer months, I realise how great
(&short) it was.

Also makes me realise how glad I am that I started blogging.
Apart from being able to remember the best moments (and outfits..of course)
I've met some pretty awesome people.
That's right I'm talking about you guys!
Thank you for being so supportive, so sweet and for making my head grow a little bigger with every day.

Lastly, the only thing that I can pronounce to my next summer is..
Please hurry up and come so you can be as entertaining as you were this year :)

For now, I'm going to wrap myself up in some knit sweaters
&slide my footsies into some gorgeous riding boots.

Hi there Fall! Stay a while why don't cha?

i'm a big kid now

This post is a little late - but I couldn't wait to share the photos from the Fair here in Toronto.

Apart from the pouring rain, strong wind and short sunny breaks it was way fun.

It might be hard to believe, but up until the age of 4 I grew up on the farm. With chickens, and goats, and donkeys and everything. Mhm. I drank milk straight from the cow and collected dirty cherries from the floor to offer guests as a snack.

It went something like this "I pick cherries for you, eat em" - "no, i'm okay thank you"

Then I would proceed to throw the cherries at them until they were forced to eat em.

Good hostess from a young age. My mommy taught me well.

So naturally when I saw the petting zoo I was all over it. And by all over it I mean I marched in there, pushed my way through the kiddies and got on my knees to pet the heck out of them cuties.

If only mommy was there to see me. She'd be proud!
Ha - I'm more than just a city girl...see..see

There's no point in being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes right?

double take

entire outfit from F21 (except the shoes..those cuties are from winners)
Just in case you were wondering...

Yesh - I'm wearing the same outfit

Nope - I didn't wash it
(Did do the *raise hand and sniff* test, I passed! Pinky swear you guys)

Mhm - I loved it so much that boyfriend took me to the lake so I can fulfill my need to do outfit photos (because indoor photos don't count right? who's with me?)

I know I'm totally crazy. No judging kk?

PS. When boyfriend saw the outfit for the first time his eyes went all sparkly and I'm pretty sure I heard "you're hawt" from across the dressing room.

So thank you pencil skirt...because while I'm wearing you I can tell the boyfriend that I love him with all my bum. I'd normally say heart, but today, my bum is bigger.
