Sometime last week I was at my local pharmacy picking up some face wash.
I was wearing my snaziest outfit...
&& a ginormous chunk of my time was spent applying red lipstick before hand.
As I go to the cashier to pay, the very sweet lady at the counter smiles at me and asks..
"OH red lips - is that what you teenagers are wearing now a days?"
I wouldn't know sweet lady, I'm not a teenager. I'm in my 20's!
That's when it really hit me. I'm not a teenager anymore.
I'm the type of person who goes to buy back up face wash before date night.
If I was a teenager I'd be quietly sneaking into my moms room and stealing hers.
Then maybe getting yelled at for it.
So galls, yesterday I tried to muster up my most grown up -
"I'm not a teenager anymore" look
The fur thing
(not sure what else to call my pretty neck pet)
was my attempt at looking more my age.
Did it work?

I love this look! Your pretty neck pet (great name!) definitely adds so sophistication. I think being in my twenties has been much better than teen years, who needs the uncertainty and confusion (and acne)- twenties are still young to be fun and old enough to know & love yourself!
I love the burst of color the red belt gives this outfit, and your leather jacket is awesome!

You have a very young face--but that's a good thing! This outfit is definitely in the 20-something range (I love the touch of red with your belt). When you're an old geezer like me, you'll be so happy when people think you're younger. :)
I think this is a great outfit and perfect for the temperatures as they begin to drop. The fur collar makes a great statement and I think it adds a nice touch of glamor to the look. I also love those boots! Hardly the look of a teenage - no worries. But I suppose being mistaken for someone younger will be something us twenty somethings will be looking forward to as the years wear on. Adorable look and I love your blog!

oh yes, very sophisticated. i dig this outfit with and without the fur actually. people still assume i'm a teenager sometimes too, i think it's partially cause we're both so short. but it never upsets me when people say i look young, because when i turn 50 i'm gonna love looking younger than i really am.. i know my mom does haha.

Totally agree - I feel like I should cherish my 20's as much as I can. Time just goes by way too quickly, soon enough I'll want to start looking younger (minus the acne).
