maki me one while you’re at it

Leggings & Sweater - F21, Shirt - American Eagle, Flats - Tory Burch, Watch - Michael Kors

I have a bone to pick with sushi restaurants...
Don't get me wrong, I am super thankful to the Japanese culture!
Thank you SO MUCH for being impatient and not waiting for your fish to cook :P
(I joke about the impatient part, but not the cook part, raw fish rocks ma socks!)

However, why all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants try to trick our tummies
I will never understand :(
There is NO need for so much rice surrounding the yummy fillings.
I would like to have salmon - with a side of rice
Not rice with a side of salmon!

It's like all-you-can-eat restaurants that serve you cold water...
so that your stomach fills up quicker
OR regular restaurants not providing water unless you ask...
so that you spend more $$$ and keep nom nomming away

As sushi lovers we need to unite!
Say no to over-rice(ing)!
Viva la sushi!

I'm glad I'm not the only *only a little* crazy one ;);)

Thank you so so much :) && it's okay, not everyone likes sushi (when I first tried it, I spit it out and never touched it for almost 5 or 6 years...until my taste buds decided to magically transform ha ha!)

Katya said...

OH no we have a rice lover among us :P ha ha I kid I kid! Thanks so much for commenting!

Yay +1 more on the sushi team!

Thanks you so much for your comment Liz, it's funny that you say the 'blue' just pops. When I first wore these flats to work, each and every person commented on how much they loved my purple flats. I had to explain to each and everyone that the flats were blue - or at least that's what the box said ha ha!

Mmmm spicy mayo is delicious!

Thanks Gaby!! :):)

Darn sushi places :P ha ha

Thanx lots & lots, I wasn't sure about the combo when I paired it in the morning, but that's something that I definitely learned from the blogging world. Never be afraid to mix colors (and pretty much throw any other inhibitions you might have had about clothes OUT the window)

I just died laughing for a good minute. Thank god I read this at home! :):)

Thank you so much for the sweet comment Abbey!!

I will definitely be stopping by your blog :):)

Thanks so much! I was actually worried when I put the shoes on in the morning, but I'm super glad I didn't chicken out!

Katya said...

Thanks! I'll definitely have to check out your blog :):)

I totally agree with you! I hate when they do things like that. Anywho, I love your outfit especially the blue shoes. So pretty.

Love the outfit!
And I love that plaid especially!

I adore your outfit! it is just perfect. As for the sushi, sometimes i like the rice. I'm not sure why maybe I've just been trained to like it. Bring on the salmon!

Thank you Nikki! It's super comfortable, if I could I'd live in knits all year round :)

I'll definitely put that on my list of restaurants to visit when we go to Chicago (which I hope is soon! I've always wanted to visit)

Katya said...

Thank you so much, you're too sweet! I promise though, my complexion isn't as clear as the camera might make it seem - we all have imperfections!

All-you-can-eat sushi places around here charge the $1 as well! Ridiculous!

Katya said...

Thank you lots! Making my cheeks go red over here!

LOVE this look hun! You are so so gorgeous! I am really wanting your pants!

There is a place in Chicago called, Aja Steak (not sure on the spelling) and they have amazing sushi- to die for! I also love the shrug and the shoes, the color is so vibrant.

Hi There! I am stopping by after reading your comment from Courtney's blog! You are gorgeous, I wish I could have a complexion as clear as yours! I know exactly what you mean when you talk about japanese sushi. My brother took us to a place, all you can eat, and I kid you not......for every piece you DIDN'T finish...you had to pay a $1. So you can imagine that restaurant has minimal waste...but gives its patrons maximimum heartburn!

your outfit is perfect and you are so beautiful :)

Loving that knit vest/ sweater. This is the perfect cozy look for fall.

haha girl I just had a philly roll tonight and it was waaay too much rice + cream cheese and waaay too little salmon and avocado! I feel ya, and applaud your crusading ;)

Katya said...

We were there just last Friday for lunch! Super delicious! (&& they use minimal rice in their rolls!!)

Katya said...

Hmmm I know what you mean - I really like AJI SAI on Queen St have you tried it?
Love the leggings!

Katya said...

Whaaat? How have I not commented on this? This is me checking back today to see if you wrote a new post--and now realizing I didn't comment. Wth.
You look awesome. As per usual. I will now break out my cozy knits. Why haven't I prior to this, I don't know. Now is not the time to discuss that...
But now I'm craving sushi. At 11:15 to be exact. Too late to go buy sushi! Darn it. I actually don't mind all the rice... :D

Love this look on you! You're gorgeous! xx

I'm not a fan of sushi, so I can't relate. But I DO love your outfit! every piece is awesome. All of the colours pop so wonderfully against the knit and the leggings. Looking good!

Katya said...

Haha..love it!! I love the rice actually, but I can see how it would fustrate ones who like the other bit. Love those shoes :)))) xx

Katya said...

I love the blue shoes with your red shirt, they look so good together!

Those flats are awesome! The blue just pops. And I could not agree more about the tom foolery that those sushi places employ.

"But I can totally all-i-can-eat it later.."
She was not amused.

Love your plaid and blue flats combo! And I agree to not over-ricing, haha. It just swells up in your stomach and then you feel sick an hour later!
