I am a HUGE fan of birthday parties. Especially surprise birthday parties. Going to sound like a huge sap, but there is no better feeling than seeing someone cry from happiness (downside: weeping occurs on both sides, so waterproof mascara is my best friend). That pretty much sums up our la la lovely Friday night. Full of balloons, cake, a candy bar, delicious food, family & friends, and of course a very shocked birthday gall.
And what surprise party is complete without dancing! Oh boy was I glad my hair was up. After the night was over, and I was nursing my poor feet back to health, my hair was still in tip top shape. A few bobby pins, some hairspray, and even a night of dancing my bum off didn't cause any damage. Lesson learned, updo's are a definite do! Them ladies on the red carpet sure know what they're doing!
PS. Completely unrelated, but does anyone else feel like they get a complete leg workout when trying to pee in heels?

Every time I read your posts I get so tickled and can totally relate to what you're saying. 1) you are looking fab in this dress and heels. 2) I am updo-challenged and am SO impressed with this hair you did! It take about 50 bobby pins and I still have to use hair elastic to keep my hair 'up' like that. sigh. Love this post!

You are hilarious by the way. I usually coat the seat in toilet paper but now that I think about it it's more so a waste of toilet paper...and there's no problem with a leg workout. Yes. It is a huge leg work out to pee in heels btw! haha! OR in the woods while camping. Same principal.

I've only been to a couple surprise parties but yes, they are the best. This outfit is lovely, the hair is pretty much perfect for a birthday party.
