Velvet Blazer Thrifted Sweater from Joe Fresh Fur Stole from H&M Boots from Steve Madden Bag from Theit
The holiday season is pretty magical if you ask me. Let me take you back in time for just a few seconds. Eleven years back in time to be exact, the time when I fell head over heels for the Velveteen Rabbit. I wished and I hoped and I prayed that my toys would come to life - though by that point I was more of a realist than a dreamer. In the back of my mind, I knew that there was no way my dear stuffed pup patches would ever blink his pretty brown eyes at me. And now this part you have to take my word for because it might sound a teensy bit coocoo. The day after reading that ah-mazing book, was the day I found out my parents friends dog had puppies. Seven puppies to be exact. All black, except the last one, she was white as snow. She was also mine. All mine. That's magic I tell yah.
Eleven years later, I decided to re-read that book - just a few days ago - and then went for a walk to the local thrift store. I found that gorgeous velvet blazer up there (for 5 bucks!). Now if you didn't believe in holiday season magic before, you probably do now don't cha?
My toy that came to life (she just had her haircut - what a little mouse)

You look FRESH... Cozy... & Fabulous.
What a cute story! Definitely enough to put me in the holiday mood :) Love the fur stole and vest. Heather
hey girly!:) it's really easy.. something comfortable is usually a jacket, a blouse/top, jeans and boots/shoes with no heels. Keep that in mind and buy lots of different jackets/boots in different colours.. basically you're wearing the same outfit, but with different items.. and another tip. Is to invest in good shoes a blazer or a nice bag.. everything else = keep it simple. Jeans, white tshirt, maybe a glittery blazer.. if you don't know what to wear.. keep everything as simple as possible and wear one item that stands out..

This post is amazing. The velveteen rabbit was one of my favorites too and I would pretend that all my stuffed animals would come alive. I think this story is solely the reason I cry when I see road kill. Oh, and you look gorgeous and this holiday post makes me happy.

Thanks for much Krysten! I love blazers that can double as coats :)
I couldn't believe it either. I looked like a spooked owl. Just shows how rarely I find great stuff at the thrift store (I blame our Canadian ones)
You and I are like sisters from another mistah. That's exactly why I cry at any mention of roadkill! You rock my socks right off girly.
Thanks oh so much Ash! I can't believe it either, it was a one time kinda deal.
Thank you lots & lots Ms. Barbie ;)
Great story. Makes we want to read the Velveteen Rabbit again! Love your cute doggie!
